Maureen had been relieved yesterday when she'd woken up in the morning and the bruise on her face barely showed at all. But apparently they had some gestation time, because when she climbed out of her bed this morning and looked in the mirror, she looked... well, like she'd gotten hit in the face.
She'd gotten into Prior's makeup stash, in some of the stuff he still hadn't moved over to Scotty's former place that he'd taken up as his own, and did her best to cover it up. So now she looked like someone who had used makeup to try to cover up being hit in the face. Not exactly a great improvement.
Finally she just decided, screw it, and got dressed and wore her hair down and decided to just go about her day and hope no one noticed. After all, after that mess with people disappearing into dino territory not long ago, there were bound to be people with strange bruises and stuff. (Though she was pretty sure dinosaurs didn't clock you in the face.)
She might have just stayed out of the way altogether if it weren't for the fact that she was hungry and the small stash of food in her hut was nearly depleted. Maybe she should have just gone to Patrick's and had him make a picnic or something, but in truth, she was still feeling uneasy around him. She'd made her choice; she knew that she was giving him a second chance because he'd given her a second chance, but that didn't mean she couldn't use a little space.
So she stood in the Compound kitchen making a sandwich and hoping everyone was too wrapped up in their own shit (like she usually was) to notice.
