Three years old. If he had been told it three years ago, he would have looked at the wrinkled little things in front of him and laughed in disbelief. Things so small couldn't grow into people, surely.

Well.

The girls have already had a smaller party in the tree, but this is the big one--the one with cake--and finally they're old enough to be really excited about it. There's pizza, the quality of which he's rather proud of. Tom has strung colored paper streamers around the Winchester, and if they look a little haphazard and wrinkled... that's one thing the girls are still unlikely to care about, at least.

And the cake. Mike isn't entirely thrilled about the cake, but it should taste just fine, even if the shape is a little irregular, the icing a little patchy, a few of the now extinguished candles threatening to slide down off the side. Eostre wouldn't be impressed... but maybe she'd be pleased by the effort. Mack is jumping up and down, her crayon-colored paper hat askew. "Let's have cake now!" she bellows. "Now! Or I'll explode!" She puffs her cheeks out. Next to her, Flo dissolves into gails of laughter.

Three years old. He would have laughed in disbelief... and he's still laughing about it, really. Not a whole lot else to do. Except cut the cake.

[as promised, this is the party post for the twins. wide open to anyone who would have any conceivable reason to be there, throughout the rest of the week to whatever point seems reasonable]
