Strange Island Happening Weekends happened to be Temperance's favorite kind of weekends, even when they shifted away from weekends. That was, of course, after the relaxed domestic weekends where she and her family-- her family-- could walk the beach and look for evidence of giant squid ( Read more... )

There were a million and one questions Johnny had about how the hell this could even have happened -- just a few more to add to an ever growing list -- and he was happy enough to slap on a name tag when offered.

Pepper knew a hell of a lot more people than Johnny had realized, and getting mistaken for her was starting to get just a little bit annoying.

The first few moments were a little awkward as Johnny contemplated Pepper's breasts in a way that was, for the first time, completely innocent, but he finally placed a name tag reading JOHNNY STORM on his blouse with a little frown.

The end of this little experiment couldn't come fast enough, as far as he was concerned.

"Johnny Storm," Temperance recorded aloud. "In the body of-- Pepper Potts, I believe." She wrote it in careful letters in the notebook, and then tipped her head. "Are you willing to answer a few questions, Mr. Storm?"

She was pretty, but the observation was about as far as Johnny could get in this state. Discovering early on that Pepper was very much attracted to men had been only one of the many distressing things about this switch Johnny was dealing with.

"Sure," he answered, folding his hands in front of him. "Are you doing this just because you're being all science-y, or can you actually help?"

Temperance raised an eyebrow. "Help you back into your body? Not likely. These events usually run their course in much the same way a strong storm does." She digs up a clipboard, scribbling out his names. "Now, did you do anything out of the usual before you went to bed last night?"

Were he still in his own body, Johnny's face might have fallen, but apparently he had totally new instincts and talents that meant he just kept a straight face in the face of disappointment.

"No? It was business as usual."

"And can you describe the events immediately after your awakening in the morning?" Very open-ended, moreso than Temperance would have liked to ask, but the thing about these... happenings was that they were incredibly open-ended in nature. "Besides the immediacy of your missing genitals, of course."

The corner of Johnny's mouth went up in amusement and just a pang of nostalgia as he was reminded of Reed.

"Other than waking up and having a really strange conversation with the owner of this body inhabiting someone else's body? I don't know, we just tried to figure out what was happening, then I came down here."

"Oh, now this…This is the best thing I've seen all year," I awed as I approached, not bothering to contain my absolute glee. "Will you wait if I go find a camera? Because this seriously needs to be recorded for posterity."

"Oh, jeez," Johnny replied, crossing his arms (with only a minimum of discomfort; he'd practiced earlier.) as he regarded Shari, a displeased look on his face. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, Cooper."

"Oh, I intend to, don't you worry," I enthused with a bright grin, practically beside myself. "Look on the bright side, at least you're super fierce, and that face is apparently really good at scowling."

Head canting, I gave him a once over. "I'm really disappointed that you didn't wear the heels."

"I don't think Pepper would approve of me twisting her ankle," Johnny replied, not giving Shari the satisfaction of hearing that he'd actually tried the heels the first morning. Walking down to the compound with them just seemed impractical. "But thanks, I guess."

"Hey, Storm!"

It sounds a lot less exciting when it comes out of this mouth. The accent is fine, even posh sounding but the way everything ends up sounding makes Felicia feel like a giant sopping wet blanket. That has skill of being a buzzkill.

Fixing a name tag to her shirt, she grins which doesn't seem to work well either.

"Nice ass."

Johnny whirled around at the voice, a vaguely offended sound escaping as he leveled a glare on the offender. But the glare lasts all of a moment when he notices the name tag -- more specifically, the name.

"No way."
