Coraline knew that thirteen was supposed to be an unlucky number but to her it was the luckiest number in the world. There were thirteen candles on her cake, there were thirteen beads on her bracelet and there were thirteen goodies in the goody bags (one for each kid and one for Mister Dean who was pretty much a big kid anyway.) Thirteen was a brilliant number and it was a number that meant that she was officially a teenager.
Smiling brightly at her guests Coraline helped Miss Delirium push the ice cream cart further down the beach nearer the barbecue and all the delicious food that was made for her party. Grinning, Coraline twirled around happily and patted Miss Delirium's twins on the head before bounding over with endless energy to the other end of the party where she had left the goody bags. Sorting through the mess Coraline stopped as she saw the one with Trisha's name on it. Pausing, Coraline's smile fell a little as she pulled the tag off and hugged it to her chest.
Coraline could be sad another day. Today though it was her party and whilst she could cry if she wanted to, she didn't want to. And Coraline didn't think Trisha would want her to be sad either. Not today or any day. Trisha was her friend, she would understand. She'd probably understand a lot better than anyone else. Putting Trisha's tag into her pocket, Coraline turned and smiled as someone called her name.
It was her birthday. She was thirteen. It was time to put away childish things and be a grown up.
OOC: It's Coraline's 13th Birthday party. Everyone is invited! Tag Cora, tag each other and have a blast.
