The Hub. Late for the serious drinkers, early for the night crowd looking to relax, but either way Robin's already been drinking for hours that afternoon on his own. In fact, he'd been so drunk when he'd walked into the Hub that he'd stumbled into a stool and simply put his head down on the surface of the bar for a good fifteen minutes, breathing heavily and shielding his eyes from the dim lights. Fifteen minutes, until Ishiah had discovered him there, hiding under a head of snarled chestnut brown curls over a pale, damp forehead and bloodshot green eyes. Robin scrubbed at the thin film of brown stubble on his face. This had been becoming habit for Robin Goodfellow lately. The drinking. He was starting earlier and earlier, drinking for any reason he could think of, hell, even fabricating reasons. At first it could have been mistaken as Goodfellow being Goodfellow, Mr. Twenty-Four Hour Party Person. Increasingly it was becoming obvious to those who might have come to know him, or those who knew him (Ishiah, for example) that the consumption was well-exceeding socially acceptable amounts.
And 'I lost count' was quickly becoming an excuse that fell on deaf ears.
Ishiah had refused to serve Robin any more. Robin had threatened to simply find somewhere else to drink. Ishiah had shouted at him, ignored his pleas and cussing outs. But the other man had had to look away eventually, and Goodfellow used that opportunity to help himself like the thief he was.
He reached over the bar, on tiptoes on his stool, one hand barely steadying himself on the bartop as he swayed, vision blurred, and managed to pluck a bottle of top shelf whiskey off of the displayed liquors by the neck.
Robin wasn't a puck with limitless tolerance and a prodigious immunity to poisons in his body anymore. Robin was a human being with a troubling problem.
