It was not that Chekov had been avoiding people, really. He'd just...well, perhaps been avoiding people a little bit. The whole Island thing was not easy on him, but he did realise that, with everything going on, it was possibly necessary for him to go out to do things that did not include simply going to see Cassie, as much as he enjoyed spending time with her.
He was still working on cataloguing the shelf in the rec room, but it was slow work and, more often than not, some kind of interruption took place. Still, it was going, but he did not think it would be finished any time soon. After all, the numbers of books seemed absolutely endless, and the choice stretched from reading material about things he did not even recognise to guides to things from his world and time, which shouldn't have been possible considering what he had found out.
Most recently, the books seemed to be about something that Chekov would rather not think about because, honestly, he knew the basics. Really, he did. And the fact that the books got more and more graphic... His cheeks heated up at the very thought and he focused on the microwave in front of him. He had actually managed to get the thing to work, and was waiting for the popcorn to finish cooking.
There was definitely something better about doing these things the old-fashioned way, and gave him much less time to think about...other things.
