'This is getting rediculous,' Felicity thought, looking over inside the clothing box, wearing the white and blue floral gown that she first had her first day here.

She had so far been on this island for a week, and while she missed her family and friends, she knew that none of them would want her to mope about. There was a lot to keep her somewhat distracted: books to read, people to meet, new things to explore and above all, new places to explore. Unfortunately, because of her petticoats, she was rather limited in where she could head off to, and even though she'd heard about the 'washing machines' to keep them clean, they were still bothersome. The heat and humidity of the place didn't aide her either, and she was compelled to spend most of her time indoors reading, an enjoyable past time, but not when there was so much to see out of doors.

Which was why Felicity was searching through the clothing box. She didn't see why she had to put up with stays, long petticoats and stockings when there were ladies and children walking around in breeches (no, they were called trousers or pants now), short pants and even knee length petticoats and dresses would've been preferable. Surely, if she chose to wear something less stifling in this heat, no one would be shocked. Unfortunately, she still didn't know where to start. There were so many items to choose from, that she wasn't even sure were to begin, or exactly which sorts of garments she should go for, and then of course there were the very thin, skimpy garments that just made her blush.

She huffed, and a stray lock of red falling into her eyes. Even with her hair held back with a ribbon and mob cap, it seemed a few stray locks always managed to get in her face. And she still had no idea where to start in terms of 'modern clothing.'

ooc: timed to monday morning. Please help an 18th century eleven year old at the clothes box. If you live on or near the homestead you'd recognize her, but she loves meeting new people. Slow time's love and late tags are welcome.
