Once again the Island had carried out a peaceful and democratic election, which Dale felt was always a cause for celebration. The work was done, the results were in, and it was time for everyone to let loose for one night. If there was one thing that nearly everyone on the Island agreed on, it was that they liked a good party.

There was, as always, an abundance of food, the regular stable of volunteers - and a few above and beyond that - hard at work making sure there was plenty of meat and fish and bread and salads and desserts to feed anyone who wanted to celebrate - or commisserate, as the case may be.

The party began just outside the compound, but inevitably spilled out beyond any arbitrary boundaries imposed upon it into the surrounding area, the compound itself and any number of the buildings that had sprung up around it.

[ Your traditional post-election party! BYOB, but plenty of food and music and social engagement for all. ]
