Friday Dinner

Oct 30, 2009 16:50

Bill's iPod contained, among many, many others, quite a few songs by a band called Travis. He'd never heard of them before, but he suspected they were Scottish based on a snippet at the end of one of their songs where they could be heard talking. It was good music, if not exactly the type he'd immediately prefer, but after listening to them for a while now they'd quite grown on him. He'd been learning to play several of the songs, and one in particular called "You Don't Know What I'm Like" he found especially brill due to its fun bass line.

That was the song he was listening to now as he put the final touches on dinner, iPod in his pocket and the thingers stuck in his ears he could never remember the name of - ear bits or something like that. The meal tonight was tuna steaks and shepherd's pie, along with a cold pasta salad with veggies, a variety of sliced fruit, and mango muffins. In honour of Halloween tomorrow, he'd also made pumpkin pasties and what turned out to be a fairly good imitation of cauldron cakes.

Bill set the pasties out with everything else, ready to serve, and sung quietly along with the new song that started as he poured his coffee. "Baby, you've been goin' so crazy, lately, nothin' seems to be goin' right..."

[Friday dinner post! Tag Bill, tag each other, have fun! ST/LT a-okay. The song he's singing at the end is Sing by Travis.]
