"Dammit," Capa muttered, tucking the pencil he'd been holding behind his ear. With a sigh, he collapsed back against the couch in the rec room and closed his eyes, rubbing the bridge of his nose. There was a notebook in his lap covered in equations and math formulas that he hadn't quite been able to work out, but knew made sense if he could just find the right combination. Despite what Alice -- and everyone, really -- told him, he still believed there was a way for him to figure out how he had arrived on the island and how to get off.
The only problem with his conviction that he could work out the math was that he couldn't. Not yet, anyway. All the work he had done so far just didn't fit.
Closing the notebook with a sigh, he climbed to his feet and tucked it under one arm as he headed into the kitchen. It wasn't so late that it would be empty, but all he wanted was to make himself a sandwich before heading back home. Working in the rec room was next to impossible with all the activity going on around him and Capa was only getting more and more frustrated as time went on. The more people who were around him, the harder it was to get anything done and no matter where he went on the island there were people.
"Shit, sorry," he mumbled as he nearly walked into someone coming out of the kitchen, just barely managing to get out of their way. His shoulder glanced off the edge of the door and he bounced back awkwardly, fumbling with his notebook and dropping it at the last second, sending papers sliding across the floor. "Shit," he cursed again and dropped into a crouch to try and collect his work, which had gone halfway across the kitchen.
