Between thinking about the baby, the clinics, looking at the possibility of a chicken pox outbreak and the last week of preparation and practice, Devon was glad when game day finally arrived. It brought with it some pretty gusty winds, but it only made things more challenging, and that was what Devon believed everyone should look for when playing a sport. What good was a game without some unpredictable excitment, anyway?

On top of it all, Serena had agreed to help with a birthday party for Chuck combined with the festivities of the day, and Devon thought it all came off pretty nicely. Ellie did a great job with the food as always (although Devon was a smart enough man not to tell her she didn't have to), and all that was tucked away next to the building to keep from the worst of the winds. When he wasn't playing, Devon was overseeing everything from a pretty awesome spot in the shade of the rec center.

With the final match done (after a gracious defeat to the Winchester team), Devon was feeling pretty good. He was pretty sure Buck would have thought the day a sucess, and it was only fitting that his old team won the first match.
