Chuck's not too proud to admit that the amount of people disappearing from the homestead is becoming frightening. Bill’s disappearance was downright upsetting, but with Cain gone now too, there's an air about the homestead that Chuck thinks nobody can really ignore.

He remembers back when Roe and Toye had moved out, the guys had only moved upstream, but the distance was felt and he'd say there was distance felt in this instance too, if he knew it wasn't a considerably large understatement.

Just walking down the corridor, past the door to Bill's room, or the one in the kitchen leading to Cain's, makes Chuck think that the decision he and Johnny made to move out was done so at the right time. Maybe getting away from the place will save them from the same fate - that unexpected snatching from time and place, even if it means being returned home, to the family and friends that the island takes away as quickly as it brings.

Its too much for a broken head to think about and Chuck finds himself racing past these thought-provoking areas of the house, usually just to leave for a nice, long walk.

Chuck's making a sandwich in the kitchen, when he glances at the breakfast table and takes note of the empty seats for the first time. He drops the knife he'd been using and grabs the half-made sandwich, before shaking his head with a mental "this is fucked up", and leaves through the door that leads directly outside.

He walks upstream for a while until he's sure he's halfway between the homestead and Roe & Toye's place, then heads off to find the path that'll lead him to the Compound, confident that shooting the shit with somebody, anybody, will pull him from this state of grieving.

[OOC: find Chuck along the path, or at the Compound. Despite his mood, Chuck will be more than happy to meet new people!]
