"Take my advice, drink no strong drink,
Don't go sleeping with them whores,
Get married instead and spend all night in bed,
And go to sea no more."

Davos sang in a low voice as he clambered off the 'Jenny 1'. It was a song he'd heard on the jukebox, wise and melancholy and it had struck such a chord in him that he could not get it out of his head.

He himself had made no effort to take the song's advice though. In addition to his duties on the 'Dawn Treader' he had, thanks to Lord Caspian's kindness, been given temporary jurisdiction over his captain's other ship. And so he'd gotten into the habit of taking the 'Jenny 1' out four or five times a week on short fishing trips. The strange engine and fuel had taken him a while to get used to but it was still a ship and the day would not come when Davos Seaworth could not handle a ship at sea.

The proof of that was in the fish that he had spent the last few minutes gathering into a bag. He slung it over his shoulder and, after making sure the boat was properly secured, he set off on the long walk to the Compound's kitchens, singing as he did so.

"No more, boys, no more,
Go to sea no more,
Get married instead and spend all night in bed,
And go to sea no more."

He normally made a habit of moving far more quietly, but frankly the fish were quite heavy and he needed to take his mind off the weight somehow. Plus, he wouldn't object if somebody did hear him coming and offered him a hand.
