It's a nice day.

A kind of lovely day in fact. Complete shine, no rain and only a few puffy white clouds to disturb them. These days are more common than uncommon and it's almost worrying (they're going to run out of sunblock one of these days) but after a nasty case of sun poisoning Alice is doing fine.

"Barrels. Boatloads. Bundles." The alliteration rolls off Alice's tongue, along with a grin from ear to ear. It doesn't hurt to play like she's a kid, especially when it's not hurting anyone. "A little skipping rope, hop hop hop."

"Isn't that how it always goes?" Life had that pesky little tendency to go flying by. Even when Alice could live for ever and had all the time in the world, she had managed to miss a lot of little things in her eagerness to get the big things done. This was like a breather. "Blink and then it's all gone."

Holding out the jump rope, she nods helpfully. "Wanna try it?"

"Awh, why not?"

Tilting her head, she smiles slyly. Even after a little bit of a spill she's feeling in the teasing sort of mood. "Don't you know any fun ones?"

"Do you have something against girls?"

Alice's hands are on her hips now and while she's not exactly the sort to get bent out of shape because of a little jab like that, she's not above pretending that she is. After all, she doesn't look her age.

"I mean, they make it fun."

"Pfft. Tricks are over rated."

Tricks are for people who don't know how to amuse themselves. They're trying to please others into giving them praise. Alice doesn't much care for them, but she's not about to mention that.

"Alice. Alice Brandon."

"Washington. Sort of."

Sort of is the key word. She shrugs.

"It doesn't matter what I did before. I'm not doing it now."
