He'd almost expected another strike from the island, against those who avoided its sense of ironic humor at the beginning of the month. However, it seemed to content itself with but a single, unrelated attack on the beach. He had heard of it after the fact, but it did not concern him that he was not involved. He highly doubted that it was meant for he or any other poor fool the island had toyed with earlier.

He was considering starting a calendar to track the island's moods, and predict when it would strike next. For now, he merely kept it in his mind, and while he did not let his guard down--for that would doubtlessly attract the island masters' attention, he did not allow the uncertainty of the future to worry him. Instead, he merely continued his routine.

Today it was an evening training to match the morning's. Dinner and cleaning was finished for the day. The coolness of the night was refreshing after the heat of the fire, and a welcome complement to the quiet work out. It was decided. With the new month, he would adjust his outfits to something more suitable for his current lifestyle.
