Something changed in a person, Donna thought as she sat in the rec room. She was folded into one of the chairs, her knees hugged to her chest. Something changed in a person when they lost their family. When they'd lost a child. It'd happened- That was the hard part with her memory. When she thought of something, the realities spiraled outward and she could see them all. Every Donna Troy, every difficult life. She'd lost her child at least three times. Maybe five - sometimes, the details got a little fuzzy.

Seeing Matthew, though - the little red-haired boy who'd been running about at Hera's birthday party... It'd struck a cord she thought she'd at least coped with. That had been two days ago, but... "I thought..." She trailed off, looking up at where Barbara was still thumbing through comic books. She didn't understand how she could actually do that - just read the bits of their lives like they were nothing. The redhead looked like she was cataloging them, her glasses reflecting the bright colors and black and white type.

Donna shook her head, even as she heard a quiet voice at her elbow. "Here. You looked like you might need it." Jill had flashed a comforting smile before sliding a mug of hot tea into Donna's hand. "Are you alright?"

She knew Jill - not well, but she'd seen how proud Dick was of her accomplishments at the Psych office. "I'm fine, sweetie. Thanks." She took a sip of her tea without even tasting it, not noticing as Jill retreated back to the movie that was currently playing - something that her brain supplied was Star Wars, and Jill was watching with wide-eyed fascination.

Donna pinched the bridge of her nose before cradling the mug in her hands again, staring into the steaming depths. I guess there's some things you can never cope with.

OOC: Tag one, tag all - Donna, Babs, and Jill are all in the rec room. ST/LT a++++ - the movie is A New Hope, and Jill's never seen anything like Star Wars, the comics Babs has are old, old Batman comics with Batgirl in them from the early 70s.
