Nearly three weeks it had been since the last island hijinks, and for the most part, things were back to business as usual. I smile when I see Pepper on the path to the Compound, a little relieved to run into someone I haven't thoroughly offended with my idiotic behavior of a few weeks ago. "Pepper, hi," I greet, raising one hand in a wave with the start of a smile.

"Major," Pepper greeted in turn, smiling in turn. "Good to see you, I trust everything is well out at the Officer's Club?" She hadn't had a reason to head that way since she'd been changed, and wasn't entirely sorry for it. Nixon had seemed both amused and appalled at her behavior.

"We're in the same boat, then," Pepper allowed with an understanding smile. "It isn't as though we could help it, though, so don't be too hard on yourself, okay? I'm sure everyone knows that you'd never be anything but honorable if you could help it."

"Yes, that's true, we didn't exactly have a choice in the matter," I agree. I still can't help but feel terrible for the things I did and said during that time. Hell, I even got punched in the jaw for my behavior.
