With the week before behind him, Beat was startin' to feel like things were normal again. Close to it, anyway, an' he's never been the kinda guy to complain 'bout stuff like that. An' sure, he was still pissed the island pulled the stunt, but it ain't like he can do much 'bout it. In the end, it helped him get some stuff off his chest, an' that actually made things a lot easier.
But he was away from that stuff today. He'd actually woken up early, takin' that surfboard he got from that guy Logan a while back, an' headed to the beach once he was ready. He did like his hoverboard, but there was a kinda rush that came from not bein' in complete control when it came to waves that was really growin' on him.
He wasn't the best at it, yet. That's what the classes were for. He went from not bein' able to stand on the thing to stayin' up, though, an' he figured that was a good sign there was at least progress if he kept at it. At this point, though, he was mostly jus' out there to clear his head an' just focus on it for a while.
It was only a matter of time 'fore he finally did have a pretty big wipe out. He nearly managed to stay up the entire length of the wave he was ridin', but one wrong shift of weight sent him toppling over an' into the water, barely havin' time to let out a surprised noise as he went under. It took him a few seconds to swim back up to the surface, then a little longer to grab his board 'fore it floated out to sea or somethin'. He let the thing keep him floatin' as he rubbed at his eyes to get the stingin' to stop.
Maybe he oughta take a break. Seemed as good a time as any.
[OOC: Find him either drying off on the beach or feel free to have seen him hilariously fail at surfing. :P]
