"Ahuh, Daniel's all fed and I think he's finished up spitting things up on me. He likes doing that," Delirium said adjusting his little blue and rainbow hat. "Want to hold him Uncle Alice?"

Frell, but he was small, and soft and warm when John cradled him between arms and chest. He supported his head with care, wondering how many days it'd be before he was holding his daughter in just the same way.
"God, Del," he said softly. "Look what you did. You made him."

"Wouldn't that be awesome, Daniel?" he asked softly, hoping the boy would open his eyes so he could get a look at them.

"They could, if that is what they wished." Delirium said simply, reaching to touch Daniel's stomach as he was held in John's-Alice's arms. Daniel yawned his eyes closed before opening, slightly unfocused. "They can't see things very close until they are bigger. We are just warm, soft, nice smelling blurs to them. It is so strange for them not to simply be as I was. There was nothing and then there was me. No being held or fed when I was young. Just love and delight."
