I have been here long enough to know that the island is prone to doing things that defy the rules. Math need not apply, physics should take a holiday and logic, do not even get me started. It’s not like I haven’t tried - I have, I really have and I’ve broken enough pencils and run through enough pieces of chalk to know that attempting this equation is asking for a migraine.

It doesn’t mean that I still don’t try. Not all the time, just when no one is looking.

I’m not trying today. Because today (and yesterday), this place started cheating. Do not even get me started on how much I am not a fan of this place doing that. You are not allowed to break what few rules you do seem to have and then just screw around. Gender-bending I can cope with, aging and de-aging, random weather patterns and people coming and going, fine.

Personality issues? Yeah, not so much. Psychology is not my realm for a reason.

It makes me nauseous.

Standing on top of three or four various editions of the DSM, I am attempting to get a book from the top shelf that might help me cope with this. One from the back of the top shelf, that has never seen the light of day but might be hiding some sort of insight. The secrets of the island.

Instead I get zen. Zen Guitar. The Three Pillars of Zen. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

Pulling Zen Gardening off of the shelf, I growl and turn around throwing it at the far away from.

“I am frakking zen!”

I have got to stop watching teevee in the second rec room. It’s ruining my vocab.
