Buck's not let anything get in his way in his life. Being on a deserted Island, having a whole wealth of the unknown and suddenly discovering your friends are a little cracked in the head? Well, that's not really an excuse to put baseball on hold and so by the time he's got everyone around, he figures they can play a game.
And also, not that he's admitting this to anyone, but while some of the friends he's got are frustrating as anything, a couple others are pretty hilarious. Never before has he just had to say a couple of words to get Liebgott on the brink of tears (and yeah, so it earns him some glares). He's got the bases set up, the lemonade out in full force, and now he's curious to see just what's going to come of things.
And hell, if anyone gets a little too out of themselves, it's not like Buck's the height and weight that he is without having the goods to back it up. He can handle trouble. All in the name of baseball.
