Meal post in the madness
Once again, the island was, as Eostre would put it, playing Silly Buggers. This time, everyone seemed to be in their correct body with their correct genitalia and in their correct demographic, but the personalities were all wrong. Veronica Mars had been having a tea party, Warrick was completely flamingly gay, and if she wasn't mistaken, someone had been skipping in the compound. Someone not prone to skipping, to be precise. It was all kind of disturbing.
If the island was indeed switching personalities, which she kinda hoped it wasn't given what had happened the last time, the people who were normal would need comfort food. Food kept people grounded in times of stress and craziness and personality switching. To that end, she'd made red beans and rice, biscuits, salad, scientist-strength coffee, and even cobbler from the first few strawberries that had appeared in the garden.
When it was all done, she sat down at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, a slice of cobbler, and a book, hoping not too many crazy people would come to supper and disturb her. This Honor Harrington series was really good, and she seriously wanted a treecat.
