The nights have been getting longer of late. This means, of course, that baby Reynald is getting into something that resembles a consistent sleep schedule, allowing his parents more than a few scant and scattered hours of rest each night ( Read more... )

Eddara is attempting to sneak up on her uncle having escaped her mother, her day has been quite difficult as she is still not allowed to claim a puppy from Lady's litter and her drum has been confiscated for some trifling offence.

She peers into the basket of fish and wrinkles her nose. "Stinky," she announces wrinkling her nose and then she plops herself down to watch Reynald carefully.

Robb is probably fortunate fishing does not require a lot of concentration. "Yes," he agrees mildly. "How are you, Eddara?"

Eddara looked shifty. "Am good!" she insisted as if anyone might say otherwise. She leaned over and poked at her cousin but he just giggled which puzzled her, the other one always cried. "Good baby," she offered grinning at Robb.

Reynald thinks this is a brilliant game and squeals in delight when Eddara pokes him, making a clumsy grab for her hand. "Very good baby," Robb agrees. "Be nice to him, he likes you. Does your mother know where you are?"

"Am nice," Eddara insisted holding her hand out of Reynald's reach just to see what he'll do. The question however makes her pout. "MOTHER!" she shouts in her loudest voice. "Mooooooother!" If Sansa didn't know where she was - well she will now.

Grey Wind lets out a short, sharp, be quiet bark, and Reynald's eyes get very big as if he's deciding whether or not all this means he should cry. In the end he decides no, that it's absolutely lovely of Eddara and Grey Wind to make all this noise just to entertain him, and giggles happily. Robb thinks they're lucky. "Right, I was just asking. You're going to scare away all the fish, Eddara."

"Am not," Eddara said poking Reynald again. She can't quite believe he hasn't cried yet. It takes nothing to have the other baby wailing.

Sansa hadn't been expecting Eddara to make her job so much easier by shouting but following her voice she is pleased to find her safe with Robb. "Eddara I've told you not to run off," she said sternly dropping beside Robb and offering him a relieved smile. "Thank you for watching her, she's not bothering Reynald is she?"

"No," said Eddara grumpily as her cousin snags a brief hold on her hand which she immediately pulls away from.

Robb shakes his head. "He doesn't look bothered to me," he says. Reynald, as if to prove the point, is peering in wonder at his hand, as if trying to work out what happened to Eddara's. He was just touching her SECONDS ago.

"Gah!" he says happily.

Eddara looks smug and Sansa sits down beside them with a pointed look, she smooths Reynald's dark hair cooing at him a little as he beams. "Thank the gods for that then," she said. "Rickon seems to cry if she even looks at him." Mainly because Rickon seems to be interested in anything Eddara is currently playing with and while Sansa does want Eddara to share - its not fair to make her hand over everything - and if she did it would only change which child had a tantrum. At these words Eddara looks proud of herself, which Sansa admits at least to herself doesn't seem to help.

Reynald's face scrunches up and widens into a brilliant smile at the arrival of his aunt, and reaches for her hair.

"Oh, he'll cry when he wants to," Robb warns. "It's just lucky for us he doesn't seem to want to often. It's almost enough to make you think he's a bit daft," he says fondly, not meaning a word of it.

Sansa keeps her hair enough in Reynald's reach so that he can carry on trying - yet far enough away that he can't actually pull it. She's wise to that game.

"Daft," said Eddara giggling pushing her face close to Reynald's and he seizes a handful of her hair instead - Eddara squawks outraged and Sansa hastily detangles her smiling at her put out impression.

"Perhaps just expert at keeping us off our guard," Sansa suggests instead with a smile.

"Perhaps," Robb agrees. "I think he just is actually so pleased with everything that the bitterness when something goes wrong is inexpressable. Not that he doesn't make a good attempt," he adds dryly.

"I'm sure he does," Sansa agreed as Eddara attempted to climb on Grey Wind and Sansa scooped her up so she would accidentally fall on Reynald. In defiance of this agreement Reynald merely looks even more pleased.

Grey Wind is well used to being used as a climbing toy by now, and just looks tolerant and tired. Robb reaches over to rub the top of his head.
