This had nothing to do with Guy's recent lies towards Willie. Nothing to do with baiting him into talking to a professional about the war he had been through and the nightmares and trembles he suffered. Guy was, as always, utterly unapologetic about his liberal managment of the truth. No guilt there.
So, that was not the reason Guy had decided to celebrate Willie's birthday today. It was only that the poor boy's birthday was in December. Who would want a birthday in December, the darkest, dreariest of months? No one (one or two prophesised savoirs of the world aside). February - though not ideal, he would admit - was a much more suitable period of the year to celebrate a birthday party.
For the purpose he had made a bonfire on the beach; for two, for more, whatever. He had suggest to a few people to come, beside the soldier, but he knew the quiet boy didn't familiarize with that many people. That aside, though, he had made sure there was enough to drink. As per. Drinks were never the problem.
Food he was less meticulous about. He just wasn't the cake-cooking sort of fellow. He hadn't even thought about preparing anything to eat until a cooking manual appeared on the bookshelf. Curious, more because he had no idea why such a random sort of book would appear there, he had glanced through it. And there it was, between roast and toast and 'lay in the oven for four hours', one word that did appeal to him; flambé. It was some sort of custard dessert type thing. Surprisingly simple and above all flammable; it was a combination that suited Guy very well.
So there he was. Bare-footed in the sand, he poured palm-wine over the custard-like contents of the pan, before placing it over the bonfire. It took no time at all for a spark to feed the alcohol and a flame wooshed out of the pan. Someone else might have been slightly worried about the uncontrolled and unpredictable nature of the situation he was willingly creating, but Guy only grinned. Perhaps a bit more alcohol would further improve the taste...
((OOC: Beach&fire. Timed to sun-set/evening. Treat like a gathering if you like. Open to all and always. Friends of Willie are especially encouraged to come around, seeing as it is his birthday party. Just imagine you've heard or been invited by Guy, randomly or for a reason.))
