He'd never been in a bloody jungle. It had been a change going from Ottery St. Catchpole to Hogwarts to Romania, but it wasn't all that different. Taller mountains, harsher winters, but he'd gotten used to that right off. Egypt had been hot when the family had visited Bill. But this? This was mad as pants. It was hot and lush and humid in a way he'd never felt. In addition to that, he'd found out his brother was living in a tree. Thankfully, he'd found the civilization and aside from the clothing and the architecture and the random ferris wheel, it wasn't so bad. At least it wasn't crowded like London.
Charlie found a pleasant patch near what he assumed passed for a market place and had a seat. He'd already decided the dragon-skin that nearly all his clothes were made of wasn't ideal for the heat. They didn't stop him from pulling out the meal his mum had packed for him and tucking in to a decent lunch. If Bill was right, it'd be the last taste of home for a while. He ate leisurely and watched the people go about their business. All their accents were strange enough to make him smile and he found he missed hearing Romanian. He'd honestly been looking forward to retrieving the Welsh Green and going home to the Reserve. Ah, well. Now that the war was over, nothing was the same.
He ate and he watched and whenever he caught the eye of a pretty bird or a friendly looking gent he smiled and waved. He'd never had trouble making friends and he didn't reckon it would be any different here.
