It'd been one of those nights where she'd kept herself up, running and jumping and flipping, training until she couldn't even stand. The last thing Yuffie remembered was letting herself flop down in the sand with a water bottle not far off, feeling the warm pressure of Cloud the chocobo settling himself down next to her for the night. They didn't always sleep standing up, one more way they were better than horses....

And when she woke up, Yuffie became aware that the world was not in double-vision, like that time she got hit on the head crawling around in the submarine, but in double-audio. Because there were two distinct sets of warks coming from down the beach where Cloud liked to poke his head around for shiny things (just like his owner). "I didn't even drink anything," she groaned, sitting up.

"Kweh," said Cloud from the surf.

"Kweh?" said the black chocobo next to him.

"Holy shit," Yuffie said in return, stunned into staying where she was. "Where'd you come from, buddy?"

No answer was forthcoming, but her attention was caught as a tiny tag broke loose from the black chocobo's collar and floated towards her on the breeze. She reached up and caught it easily. "To Yuffie Kisaragi," she read aloud, and looked around.

"Thank you?"
