There are certain things that can just be classified as 'outdoor' things just as easily as other things can be classified as 'indoor' things. For most part record players and video games were 'indoor' things, books could be both and frisbees and baseballs were meant to be used out of doors. Grigg Harris liked the simplicity of categories and ( Read more... )

From her perch in the red car that had been her gift the year before, Eden laughed, floating out of range of the blade as it blazed into and out of being. Grigg seemed to be enjoying himself and she couldn't blame him, a little awed by it herself. "You're kidding," she said as she landed a couple yards away. "That's seriously a lightsaber."

"Yep, it is," he agreed, still grinning from ear to ear as he lowered the blade, enjoying that fact that it did everything that the ones that he saw in the movies or read about in the books seemed to do. Or at least, it seemed like it did so far. He was half-tempted to take it apart to see how it worked, but he wasn't certain that he'd be able to put it back together and have it work again. "Oh cool. Did you get that?" he asked, gesturing towards her hovercar.

Eden brushed a hand against the side as she climbed out, nodding. "Last year," she said, more focused on his lightsaber than anything else, head tipping to the side to consider it. "So this is just another one of those 'cool things show up out of nowhere and we hope they weren't sent here to kill us' things. Hmm. Where's my toy, then?" Possibly it wasn't fair to ask for more when the island had given her her car, though.

"Maybe it's waiting at home? Perhaps you got pet Sabertooth tiger, like Baby Puss." He laughed amused at the idea of getting things right from movies and TV shows, but slightly less thrilled at the idea that they could have been sent there to kill them. "If it threatens you, I'll tame it with my shiny new toy."

"Hey, now," she protested playfully, shaking her head, "I don't think there's a tiger that could hold up against a lightsaber, and then I'll have no pet at all." She laughed, though, biting her lip, watching him. "Well, except Mr. Muggles. He hardly counts."

"Awh, I like Mr Muggles," he lamented, frowning just a tad because while the dog was small furry and arogant, Grigg enjoyed the little furball. Then again he did like most dogs, even the ones who would take a chunk out of him if given the chance. "Okay then, no tigers at all. Palm trees only. Or coconuts."

Eden grinned a little at that. Mr Muggles seemed to like Grigg pretty well, too, which would have proved the dog had good taste if it wasn't just as likely to be a fluke. He could be a little monster, that dog. "Palm trees and coconuts and not your arm or something," she said, wagging a finger at him. "You'll cut your own hand off with that thing if you're not careful."
