Paternity

Jan 04, 2009 19:53

It was House's clinic shift, and he was there, doing nothing, as usual. Prior was asleep, and thankfully so was the damn cat that had taken to hanging around in the past couple of days.

Bored, he started flipping through some of the patient charts just to see if there was anything interesting going on. When he picked up a few off the top of the stack, a piece of paper fell out from between them and fluttered down to the desk in front of him. He was about to just shove it back into one of the folders when he was surprised by the name at the top:

House, Gregory.

And then another: House, John.

It was... a DNA test. A paternity test.

The other folders he was holding slipped from his fingers and fell to the floor, papers scattering at his feet as he scanned the page in front of him.

And just like that, House learned that the man he'd spent most of his life loathing was not actually his father.
