The table in front of her was filled to the brim with various alcholic beverages that she couldn't drink. Champagne, beer, Pan Galactic thingiemajiggers, that really nice green stuff they'd had in San Francisco that made people all loopy- lots and lots of beautiful glasses of tempting, teasing alcohol and she wasn't allowed one drop of it. Rubbing her hand over her rounded belly, Delirium sighed unhappily and placed her head on the table.

"i wAnt You, I wANT yoU SO BAd." Delirium sang to the glasses with a small pout.

"I know you do," Trance said, wrapping an arm around Del's waist. "And you have me." She knew what Del was looking at and Trance knew what she really wanted. Out of deference to what Del couldn't have, Trance had made sure that her drink was water. For the moment.

She'd have something else when, or if, she left Del's side.

"iT's dRiving Me maD," Delirium finished singing to the glasses and bottles and cans of wholesome, ever so good for you alcohol. Delirium looked down at the bump, hoping that bunsquid understood that whilst she loved him or her very much that they were making her very unhappy right now. "iT's a pARTY and thERE'S aRMAdiLLO icE CREAM and i caN'T HAVE ANy. And aLCohoL. anD COFFEE chOCOLATE aND sHARK bURGERS. ANd i cAN'T EAT anY of iT."

Delirium pouted unhappily.

"If it's making you unhappy, are you sure that you want to stay at the party? I could always take you home and have my wicked way with you." Trance hesitated a second before laughing. "Or, you know, sit and we could talk and have things you can eat. If you'd prefer, I could keep you company for a little while."

"i'M nOT at Home, i'M NOT AT hOME BEcauSE i'm SLEEping in the BASement uNTiL THe bAD WEATHer goES AWAY and Asher caN stoP WOrrying abOUT ME SLiPPing doWN the treEHouse staiRS AND kiLLing myseLF." Delirium said half smiling at the thought of Trance having her way with her. The whole problem of the party was that she had no where she could escape to, it was everywhere. "i WAnt TO eaT thinGS. Lots of thiNGs."

"Then why don't you tell me what you want to eat of you can eat and I'll get together a plate for you." Trance randomly tucked a stray lock of hair behind Del's ear and smiled at her. "How does that sound? Asher can play hooky for a little while and I'll keep an eye on you for him."

"PizzA, i wANT pizZA. aND bUrgers wiTH CHEEse anD BACOn anD OnioN Rings. aND fRies, sALTY deLiciouS Fries. aND A rAiNBOW miLKSHAke." Delirium said listing off the foods she could smell and bunsquid wanted to eat. She took Trance's hand and got up out of her chair. "OkiES. i wANT tHAT. bUnSquiD wAnts THat too see-" Del put the hand on her bump as bunsquid squirmed inside her. "-NOrmaLLY quiET bUT the NoiSE is KeepiNG us awaKE hUH bunsquid?"

Trance looked from where Del was standing to the counter of food. "Do you want to come with me or do you want to stay there?" It was a valid question and just walking wasn't going to be any harm to Del. In fact, it was probably good for her.

"wALkiNG. buNSquiD LiKES WALking anD ASHer aNd when I sing to him or her." Delirium said leaning from side to side in vague discomfort before straightening her posture. Del smiled and leaned against Trance, nudging her softly before they wandered over to the counter of food.

"Then walk we shall." They headed over to the counter and Trance picked up a plate, starting to fill it up with the various foods that Del had listed. "And one of these days, I'll have to sing to the little one and she'll know all about the stars."

"tHAT'd BE nicE, i miSS THem aLL SO muCH. i mISS TALking to THem and siNGing, soL's faiNT ORange skin ANd RAO's bicKERing toNES, Gethies steaDY bLue gLow. i miSS THem aLL," Delirium said watching as Trance filled the plate with food. She was hungry still or not hungry but more craving food. It felt weird. "Remus saiD i wAS GOinG TO Be a Mum, i nEVer THoUGHT ABout it Like that bEFORE- iT'S KiND OF scARY."

"Maybe scary, but there are lots of people here who love you and want to help. But I think you know that already, what with your looming shadow." And Trance herself and everyone else that made it a point to check in and make sure there wasn't anything that Del needed.

"hE's a VERY HANDSOME LooMiNG SHADOW eVen if hE WON't stiCK hiS PEnis iNSidE me," Delirium said noting where Asher was and whether or not he had an alcoholic drink in his hand. Everytime she found him with one, she threw it against something until it broke into little pieces. It was only fair. "i KNow eVERYone waNTS TO HeLp but- bUt it'S MY RESPonsibiLity."

"Never said it wasn't," Trance said easily. "But I'm worried about you and it's more than just the baby." She handed Del her plate and headed back over to the tables and chairs. "You know what I'm talking about, don't you?" She was reasonably sure that Del did.

Delirium took the plate and moved back to the tables and chairs. Lowering herself down, she took a burger and began to chew. She hadn't even tasted beef properly before but she had missed it. Delirium smiled at Trance eerily and nodded.

"i hAVe to Be MorE ThAN mE foR thE BuNSquid," Delirium said simply.

"Okay." That made sense, actually. The why of it, if not the how. "But is this permanent? I never asked what happened. I didn't think you wanted to talk about it all those months back. But I thought you were like this for a reason. And is the sanity permanent or..."

Trance frowned and shrugged a little. "I'm confused."
