Winter Wonderland
The day broke crisp and clear like so many days before it now. Lucy had dug through the backpack of camping supplies that Scout had left behind, taking the thermos and leaving the rest. Bundled up, she said her goodbyes for the day, not surprised that Shadow came with her as she trudged down the paths to the compound.
The sleds were a wonderful addition to the island's supplies, and her flask filled with hot cider she started out up the mountain. Of course she told the person who'd asked her where she was going of her plans; truly she had been hoping for company. The walk up part of the mountain was much nicer with someone to do it with -- Lucy pointing out all sorts of things as they made their way up suitably high.
Finally, she stopped, looking at her companion with a smile. "Do you think this is high enough? I imagine if we can go fast, it will be quite like flying!"
