Karen wasn't exactly happy with the cold, but she didn't hate it, either - the only thing she really disliked was making the trek from her home on the now frozen beach to the compound. That was easily worked around simply by staying with Nick instead, and Karen spent the majority of her days either giving in to her childish side and making snowmen, or staying warm and comfy with a couch under her and a game controller in her hands.

Today was of the ones to indulge her inner six year old with. Karen grabbed a saucer as soon as she found one free, and spent about twenty minutes trekking up and down the path until she found a pretty decent, clear slope that the actual kids must have been using whenever they took the sleds or saucers out.

She wasn't one of those kids, but Karen was going to enjoy herself either way.

Getting up to the top was easy, and so was taking off with a running start. She hadn't done this in a while, and despite feeling as if she'd go flying off the saucer if she even so much up her death grip on the sides, Karen found herself laughing as she picked up speed. The wind was cold and she lost her hat somewhere halfway down, but she didn't really care. This was fun as hell.

It was still fun when somewhere close to the bottom, the saucer hit something that felt like a rock or a tree branch, and jolted her - it rotated a bit and the jerk slid her half off it. Having a leg and half her ass sliding across the snow kind of killed her momentum, and by the time Karen came to a slow stop a little ways from the boardwalk, half her ass was soaked through.

She was still smiling as she made her way to her feet. There was a reason sledding never went out of style.
