It wasn't that Summer Roberts was a stranger to the snow.  Her family had taken more than one weekend ski trip to Big Bear and there was little Summer enjoyed more than wrapping herself in warm clothes, drinking hot chocolate while watching the snow fall.  Still, snow first thing in the morning the day after a heatwave was not expected.  Especially for a girl who usually walked the beach in her brightly colored bikinis.

She wandered the island in all white, her sweater hugging her curves in a way that would make any ski bunny proud.  Pancakes was in her arms, wrapped in a small blanket that she'd constructed from an ugly t-shirt months before.  Summer cooed to the rabbit, speaking softly while the crisp air stung her pink cheeks.

"It's okay girl.  Mommy's going to find somewhere warm for you."  Summer shivered as she walked, hoping to find somewhere warm for herself and her bunny.
