Tabula Rasa Day - MIRROR
Whenever everyone pulled together to do something like this, Dale was reminded just why they had something to celebrate. Tabula Rasa has begun as just a handful of people on an empty beach and everything it now was, was because of its residents pulling together and making something of their mutual situation.
There were hors d'oeuvres and baked desserts, and a splendor of seafood as the main course along with all the island staples, breads and fruits and salads and roasted boar and a multitude of other things. As well this seemed to be one day when the doors opened wide on the many stashes of alcohol on the island and everyone provided what they could. Certainly, it was more than enough for the entire adult population of the island to have as merry a time as they chose.
The celebration was centered on the Hub, where the food and drink and music could be had, but its reach went much further than that, spilling out over the path and taking over the playground with some children's games and into any spare outdoor space in the vicinity. Dale wouldn't be surprised to walk into the compound and find people congregating in there, too, lurking by the kitchen to pounce on whatever treat came forth next.
Sometimes Dale thought it didn't get much better than this. Tabula Rasa Day was something to celebrate indeed.
