Raistlin still had the last book that the bookshelf had given him but in a very uncharacteristic move he hadn't been able to bring himself to read it yet. He hadn't sorted out what was stopping him, but it mattered little in the end. The book was there simply waiting for him to be ready.
One thing that had surprised Raistlin on the Island was his embracing of technology. He never left his room anymore without his laptop, and he was becoming used to reading and working late into the night because of the electric lights. He even had begun to take for granted the appliances that helped people in the kitchen.
There was one thing; however, that he hadn't done. He had yet to watch one of those 'movies' that he had noticed were also on the bookshelf. Oh, he might have come in when someone else had been, but he hadn't ever picked one out himself, started it playing, or paid attention. Why he had decided today to actually do it who knew, but here he was picking up one of the containers and going over to the machine. He hadn't bothered to look closely at the title since he likely wouldn't know the film anyway. It took him a few moments to figure everything out, but once he did he sat back on the couch feeling quite pleased with himself.
He had expected to see people moving about acting out whatever it was so he was slightly surprised to find that wasn't the case. It took him a few minutes to come up with the word that he had come across in one of the histories the bookshelf had given him long ago. Animation.
At first he found himself wondering why this particular film. After all it seemed very much a tale for children, although hadn't the same been said about the gods and heroes of his own world once upon a time. When the Dark Fairy Maleficent made her appearance he found himself watching intently. It was slightly disquieting because he couldn't help but be reminded of Takhisis, with her almost controlled rage and the way that everyone in the room turned to her, and yet there was a grace to her that he found intriguing and then as it went on he found her even more fascinating. He had to admit that whoever had written this had understood the telling of a good story.
(OOC: He is watching Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty' and quite enjoying the villain. I wish everyday that the artists on this could have done the Dragonlance movie that is all. Anyway, feel free to come in at any point after the Dark Fairy's introduction.)
