He slept cocooned in leather.

It was cool inside the hut. Sun just barely breaking the horizon, the breeze drifting in through the cracks of his hut smelled of sea salt and he burrowed deeper, blocking out the light for just a few more blessed moments. The smell was familiar, deep and musky with a faint hint of something metallic. Moaning softly, his eyes fluttered open to darkness, tongue sweeping out across his lips and meeting silk. He lifted a hand, pulled the heavy weight of fabric from his face and lifted his head blearily, blinking against the sting of light in his eyes. He was alone, naked on his palette, and blanketed by a worn leather coat.

His heart lept, catching in his throat, and slowly Nothing sat, curling his hands in the familiar hide and letting his fingertips brush over the vibrant purple lining. Getting to his feet slowly, Nothing pulled on his clothes and after a moment of hesitation, he pulled on the coat, arms slipping into the cool silk satin, and let the heavy weight settle across his shoulders. Stepping out into the sun, pale and thin against the backdrop of his hut, he pulled a clove cigarette from the pocket and lit it with the gold lighter nestled inside. His fingertips brushed something cool and solid, and when he drew his hand from the coat, there was a heavy gold doubloon resting in his palm.

Bare feet stepping out onto the path, smoke curling up toward the overhang of leaves, Nothing's lips tugged slowly into a smile.
