Isabel had spent the afternoon in the kitchen baking, staying out of Mrs. Lovett's way as she cleaned up from breakfast and making sure she didn't use anything that Bill might need for whatever he was planning for dinner. Tomorrow before her own dinner shift she planned on heading out to her stall in the market, so she made several different batches of cakes, cookies, and pastries.
As people filtered in and out of the kitchen for sustenance throughout the day, Isabel learned that the island was up to its old tricks again. She was grateful that this time she was spared from the fun, but at the same time Isabel felt badly for people who woke up pretty damned different from how they were when they went to bed.
After eyeing her massive batches of food, Isabel decided that the market could wait another few days. Recalling how everyone had seemed to gravitate toward the Hub the last time this craziness happened, she boxed all the sweets up and took them there. After greeting the woman behind the bar, Isabel set up the goodies on a counter and got herself a drink.
Hopefully people would come to get a drink, find themselves, or relax. Maybe all three.
It looked to be a long couple of days.
