Island of Tabula Rasa
Mia was not unaccustomed to waking up in another person's body. Usually, however, that person's body changed to reflect her appearance, what she had looked like before she died...the difference was, she wasn't dead anymore.

Therefore that morning Mia Fey was rather confused when she woke up in completely unfamiliar surrounds, and, upon sitting up and nearly banging her head on the low ceiling, she realized she was in a completely unfamiliar body as well.

Her hands were larger, her fingers longer, and her chest when she touched it was bare, smooth and flat. A male's chest. (Well, that's different.) Looking down the length of the body, she confirmed that yes, she was, indeed, completely male.

(What in the world is going on?)

First things first. She needed to dress this new body. She couldn't very well wander about with it in just pajama bottoms, no matter how photogenic it looked. Locating a stash of clothes, Mia sorted with appreciation through some very nicely-tailored shirts, vests and trousers before choosing some and dressing, awkwardly, unused to her new limbs. She felt a stab of anxiety when she thought of her own body. She hoped it was all right, whatever had happened to it.

Mia vaguely recalled a similar incident a mere few weeks ago; people switching bodies. She had gathered that it didn't occur all that frequently, but perhaps this was the exception and she wasn't the only one. She certainly hoped this was the case. The idea of her body without her, a lifeless shell, scared her - especially considering Phoenix, who would wake up next to it. If she had died again, he would never forgive her.

Taking a deep breath after tying her shoes, Mia straightened, startled for a moment by how tall she was now, and took a moment to collect herself. After this, she left the room and peered curiously down a long, metal corridor. It looked very utilitarian, as if she was on some kind of ship rather than a building. She tried to think. Wasn't there a spaceship on the beach?

"Oh, my," Mia said, surprised, for a moment, by the deepness of her voice, but then she smiled. "This should be interesting."

And she set out to explore. If she ran into anyone, perhaps they could tell her whose body she was inhabiting so she could apologize to them later. It was, after all, rather rude to occupy someone's body without asking first. Mia knew this from her days as a spirit medium. Spirits were not usually so presumptuous as to occupy a body without being channeled first. Otherwise, things could get...awkward.

(Well, Mia, I think this is about as awkward as it gets.)

[OOC: One Mia Fey in Simon Tam's body! Serenity crew, feel free to find her wandering around the ship poking her nose into things. Others, find her anywhere on the beach near the ship. :D]
