This will be the second party that Lisey's thrown on the island, and tonight she's definitely feeling much more at ease than she had the first time. She knows more people, for one thing, has more friends, has more experience in the kitchen. And she has Scott. In a way, his arrival has made her love the island, even with its mean sense of humor and unpredictable antics, more than she had up to that point. Now that he's here she's proud of it, somehow, and what better way to show it off to him than a party?

She'd put up the notices about a week ago, and while they said "New Arrival Party" she hopes it was also clear that absolutely anyone who'd like to attend is more than welcome. In a stroke of good luck, she'd managed to run into Lewis Nixon while she'd been hanging up signs, and he'd generously offered to bring a few bottles of wine from his personal stash. To go along with it, Lisey's come up with a few dishes that she hopes will be well received: there's a slow braised boar dish (with mashed potatoes, of course); a pasta dish with plenty of veggies for those who preferred not to eat meat; the spicy popcorn and little fruit tarts she made last time, which had both been devoured quickly; mini banana breads, made from the family recipe; an assortment of cookies (oatmeal, peanut butter, etc); and of course plenty of iced coffee and iced tea that had been spiked with a little fruit juice. Scott's helped her carry everything over, and in a last-minute fit of inspiration she's gathered a few bunches of bright, fragrant flowers and positioned them around the room. It brightens things, gives the room a cheery air, and she's got no doubt that at least a couple of the new arrivals might need at least a little cheering up.

Well, they're strapped, so to speak, and now the only thing to do is sit back and hope that people begin to arrive.

[Open to everybody! Come meet, greet, have something to eat and drink. Gathering style, ST and LT welcome for as long as people want to keep it going!]
