The facts were these. Two days ago a dead body had been discovered on the island by one Charlotte Charles and the Piemaker, Ned. This had been the second such occurrence (the body, not who had found it) and its discovery had led to widespread consternation, possibly even panic on the Island of Tabula Rasa. These events alone would not have upset Olive Snook a nearly as much as they had if were not for one other unforseen consequence.

Ned and Chuck could now touch.

Olive still was unsure why the two had ever not been able to touch. Of course Lonely Tourist Charlotte Charles had told Olive of her strange and bizarre allergy to Ned, a story that she had doubted even at the time. Now, with Chuck and Ned inseparable, she wondered how the allergy could have vanished, and why it took the discovery of a dead body to prompt the change in their circumstances.

"And why they couldn't help with breakfast." Olive grumbled to Digby, scrambling eggs in a bowl. It wasn't fair, she thought as she scurried about the kitchen, trying to make sure everything would be ready in time. She had always thought it odd that her two friends, so obviously enraptured with each other, never came into contact. But now that they were in contact, she felt even more on the outside. She and Digby, destined to be alone, together. "While the Touchy McTouchsters get all touchified."

It was a sad thought, welling up inside of her. It welled and it welled, until there seemed nothing to do but let it out, a song bursting from her-

Or not, the orchestra in her heart silenced with the arrival of the first breakfast customers. It would of course, be one of those days.

[[Your Saturday morning breakfast post! I know it's early, but oh well. Tag Olive, tag each other. Have fun and enjoy. She's in a special mood, but take advantage of it!]]
