One of Elizabeth's favourite things about this mysterious island was the wonderful bookshelf in the compound. She had always been a voracious reader, and the shelf seemed to know her tastes, for it always provided her with such wonderful novels. (She had long ago become used to the idea that the contents of the shelf seemed to change according to the desire or whim of the one perusing it.) Lately she had taken to bringing home her finds and sharing them with Mr Darcy--reading aloud to him in the evenings when they sat in bed together had become a favourite pasttime of hers.

Recently she had acquired a novel entitled Sense and Sensibility, by a lady named Jane Austen. Elizabeth recalled that she had seen a film some time ago--films, such remarkable things! Pictures that moved and spoke!--about the authoress, and discovering one of her novels intrigued her greatly. Before long she found herself quite wrapped up in the trials of the Dashwood sisters, and it was only regretfully that she finished the novel, disappointed that that was all there was to the story, for it was very good. Thankfully the shelf had provided her today with another novel by Miss Austen, titled Emma, and she could not wait to begin it. After a further search of the shelf turned up no more of Miss Austen's work, she tucked the book under her arm, intending to take it back with her to New Pemberley.

[ooc: Elizabeth has not yet read P&P nor has she been canon punctured, so please don't. Feel free to tag her in the rec room or at/on her way back to New Pemberley. She's about 18 weeks pregnant, though it's not obvious due to her style of dress.]
