It had taken Daniel awhile to decide what to do now that he had an unexpected library set up and no place to put it. Eventually, he’d grabbed some supplies from the building crew, assuring them that he’d be fine to work on his own, and set about adding another room to his hut. It wasn’t that hard, really. Just knock down part of the wall and put another three walls up. It would give him time to think, too. With Mitchell out on his own, he’d been seeing Mohinder a bit more. They weren’t really fighting, but Daniel wouldn’t help but think that there was something wrong. He didn’t tell Mohinder because he wasn’t sure what was going on and every time he’d tried to talk to someone about a feeling he’d had that he didn’t recognize, things had gone horribly wrong.
He only needed to think of Jack and shots to know that.
He’d stripped to the waist and was, for once, wearing shorts instead of slacks or jeans. The missing weight of the cartouche didn’t seem to be so strange anymore, although Daniel was pretty sure that had something to do his last fight with Ianto. It really had been their breakup fight, months too late, and he’d let go of something.
Now, of course, he had Mitchell and some of the relentless itching urge to do something had lifted. He wasn’t walking around with the certain knowledge that he’d never see his family again, because one of them was on the island.
In short, apart from the confusing feelings he had regarding Mohinder sometimes, he was happy. It was a good feeling.
