It was something he'd been putting off for days, weeks even, but Logan knew it was time to go home. Making his way over to the tall stilted hut, it was hard to think of it as home now, and he stood outside for a long moment, simply staring as he clutched the few positions he'd taken with him to Joe's to his chest. Linus sat at his feet wiggling excitedly. The young golden retriever apparently didn't realize that they weren't coming home to Neil and Max, and he whined impatiently, yipping at Logan in hopes of encouraging him to hurry up and go inside.

"Yeah, alright," he said with a soft sigh. "Let's go inside."

Wandering up the stairs, Logan swallowed hard as he pushed open the door, his gut sinking as he looked around the the dusty hut that used to be his home. It looked the same at first glance, though Logan noticed the items that were missing instantly. Neil had obviously done just as he'd said he would, as there was suddenly no sign that the other boy had ever been there.

Linus nearly knocked him over in his rush to get inside, skidding across the floor and instantly starting to search for Max. Logan ignored the dogs mad antics though, tossing his things aside and sighing as he started to look around, switching off his emotions as best he could as he took notice of what needed cleaning and what needed replacing. He needed to bring some fruit back to the hut to keep on hand, and he needed to do some... dusting or whatever, maybe even laundry or something. Not that he wanted to. He didn't really want to do much of anything just then.

Still, it was hard not to feel anything as he stepped into the bedroom. He wrapped his arms around himself as he looked at the tidy and unused bed, and even though he was tired, he knew he wouldn't get any rest in there. He wasn't ready for that. He wasn't ready to crawl back into the bed he'd shared with Neil for so long. Instead he grabbed his pillow from off the bed, along with one thin blanket, dragging the items back out into the main room. Logan didn't bother to shut the front door as he threw the pillow and blanket down onto the floor, and he spared Linus barely more than a glance before sitting down on the ground and then stretching out.

There was a cool breeze that came in through the open door. It wasn't much, but it was better than boiling alive in the heat, and he closed his eyes as he rested his head on his make-shift pillow.

Linus whimpered a little, slinking over to Logan and curling up beside him.

"Shh," Logan said quietly. "It's alright," he told the dog, scratching him lightly between the ears. "It'll be fine," he promised, though he wasn't sure who he was reassuring, himself or the pup.

(Logan is home again, and even though he's stretched out on the floor, he's not really sleeping. The door is wide open, so anyone is welcome to drop by. After all, there's a good chance any passer by might be rushed at by one very excited little golden retriever anyway :) )
