When Juno had come to them with the news yesterday, Ray and Horatio had eventually come to the conclusion that somebody should be helping her out, and obviously that somebody - those somebodies - should be them. So they were moving a bunch of their stuff into the Compound so they could be close by. Plus, Horatio figured that when you first had a baby it might be good to stick by the clinic for awhile just in case.
Three weeks, that's when she was due. Ray couldn't be sure, but he thought Horatio was even more terrified than he was. Or maybe he just liked to tell himself that. Two dads, a little bitty baby, and hardly any time to plan? It was kind of insane, but Ray was determined to get it right.
But right now their focus was moving. And it wasn't that they had more stuff than they thought they did, what made it a pain in the ass was that the Hamlet was a good two miles from the Compound. And not a cardboard box in sight to carry things in. One trip done, and a lot of swearing later, and Horatio finally gave in and made some kinda weird travois thing. Ray wanted to get Constable to pull it, but Horatio wouldn't let him. Instead he was pulling it around like some kinda pack mule.
They'd already told some folks, but once they got all their stuff situated, Ray thought they'd better let everybody else know. It was probably backwards, but he was still trying to get used to the idea himself.
[Ray and Horatio are going to have a baby! Tag in to find out. Major ST on this one, and as Sarah and I are running on a limited timetable for tagging right now, we ask please close friends only. Just indicate which one, or both, you want to talk to, and they can be anywhere from the Hamlet to the Compound.]
