The Marquess Samuel Vimes, son of His Grace, His Excellency the Duke of Ankh, Commander Sir Samuel Vimes, was turning three. At a home, a proper party would have been a matter of impressing Young Sam's status upon their economic peers- or at least that tended to be the idea. Here, a proper party was its own occasion, and when it was for children, it was a much more pressing matter anyway.
Last year, there had been unicorns, and this year, Sybil had decided, there would be a golem, of a kind. Officer Austin the T-1000 was ever so kindly serving out the day that Sybil had won of him in the auction is a very creative silver and grey ensemble that made him look like a metal golem, and was there in the capacity of Clowne (though not a proper one, as he was not a member of the guild), and to serve refreshments.
The Postmaster had once again been recruited, in his own resplendent suit of gold, to perform magic tricks and annoy her husband.
There was a good deal of food and of course a cake, and there was the playground just beside the festivities as extra insurance that any children in attendance would be wholly occupied. Young Sam was dressed in what would have been his best if he hadn't chased the dragon through the garden, and so this was his second best as the first set had become a wholly indistinguishable shade of brown. Still, he seemed very pleased, and in commemoration of last year's events, had brought his now thoroughly care-worn toys and somewhat patched-together toys, including the hand-whittled action figure of Commander Sam Vimes with Real Punching Action, although the punching arm was stationary as it was now affixed with some materials from the building crew. It was impressive that after a year they all hadn't simply disintegrated.
Sybil watched Young Sam run around to say hello to people and thank them for attending, holding Moon Rat the moonrat in the crook of her arm, and smiled.
(Birthday, yay! Have cake and beverages and harass the entertainment! I totally fail on invitations, buuut you know you're invited, so just come. Woo! I have work, so won't be around til evening. ST/LT encouraged, because- party!)
