After fighting with Pinocchio about his failure to tell Marian certain things, Tom spends a fair amount of time sulking before finally trudging to the barn to find Marian and offer an apology.  Suffice to say, things do not go as he intended.  Apologies fizzle into an out and out fight and, if anything, things are only worse than before
