Were it not for the con, Stacie Monroe could have easily been an actress.
They've been planning this for a long time, the big 'disappearance,' and now, with Danny laying low back at the hut, it's time. Sitting on a stool at the Hub, a bottle in front of her left over from the minibar she'd gotten back in January and a half-empty glass beside it, she looks the perfect picture of melancholia, downcast and nearly on the verge of tears, dressed all in black almost like she's in mourning, though the dress is short and low-cut. This past role has been easy, given her not much to do, but it all comes easily, moreso than she would even have expected. There's an unexpected comfort, too, in the fact that she'll be next to go; these characters have gone on too long, and Sarah Redford has become far too much of a second nature to her. The next one'll have to be something different.
All there is to do then is sit and wait, revel in the fact that she's become a sort of widow, 'husband' taken by the island when he's really waiting for her back home. This is important, though, the making a show of it. It's hard to pull the wool over people's eyes if never seen, after all, so there's nothing to do but make a show of it. Reappearing, then, will be even more fun.
After another long swig of her drink, Stacie rests her hands on the counter and fiddles with the ring on her finger, the one she'd picked up not long after her arrival. She could've been an actress, but even sans payoff, this is just more fun.
