Despite one far too eventful outing on Saturday, Logan had spent his weekend hiding out in Joe's hut, content to stare at the wall and lay in bed. He'd never had a problem with wallowing in his own misery and self loathing after all.
Still, Linus was getting restless and Logan was starting to get a bit ripe, so for all he wanted to spend the rest of his life curled up in that deep pit of despair that all dumped lovers seemed to dwell in, Logan managed to pull himself together and head off to the compound. It wasn't like he could hide forever after all, and even if it did feel like the world was ending, he wasn't going to waste his time wondering where things had gone wrong with Neil. He just wasn't.
At least not for the next four hours or so. He honestly needed a wallowing break.
After a long hot shower and a change of clothes, Logan sorted out some coffee for himself and a bowl of leftovers for Linus. Sitting down at the kitchen table, he felt his stomach turn over as he finally noticed what had been sitting there, waiting for him.
The shot glass and the letter he'd left in Lilly's car the day she was murdered.
'I got baked in Ensenada', the shot glass proudly proclaimed, and Logan stared at it for a long moment before picking it up and running his thumb over the rim. It seemed like a lifetime ago, but as he glanced at the letter, he knew he didn't have to unfold it to recite it word for word. He'd been so hurt, so angry and upset. He'd known it was over between him and Lilly, and it had ripped him apart. He'd known she was seeing someone else, he only wished now that he'd known who. If he had, maybe he could have saved her.
Or maybe you'd be dead too. His guidance counsellor's words echoed in his head, and he closed his eyes for a moment before putting the glass back down and picking up the letter instead.
Maybe it would hit him hard later, but in that moment, Logan felt too numb to be upset. His stomach rolled again, and he let out a heavy sigh as he tried to work out why he was getting this now. What did it mean?
(Open to all. He's still dealing with his breakup with Neil so he might be a bit touchy, but he's not especially volatile at the moment. He's still stuck in the wallowing stage of the post breakup blues.)
