Jude had been taking a walk down the beach, trying not to think much on the past week, trying to just be content. Thats when he saw a pretty shocked looking kid sitting and staring at what looked like a syringe. Immediately, Jude had flashbacks to Max drugged on his bed and the half-filled syringe by his side.
"What, are those things falling from the fucking sky?"
"No, no, no," Jonas told the man looking up at him in contention. "If your friend had these he would have died. He didn't have these you're mistaken." Jonas looked back to the long, sharp needle and imagined it going into Gabriel's head. He felt more sad that he ever had since arriving on the island.
Jude shook his head and came to sit down next to the kid. "It was a syringe. I don't know what it was filled with." He paused, running his tongue across his bottom lip.
Jonas didn't understand the rhetorical nature of the man's question so he remained measured and calm. "To kill, of course." Jonas looked at the needles. The sharp, glistening needles. "They were used to release the old or the too small. It was to control the population." Jonas looked up. "What did you think it was?"
Jude didn't hear the question because he got too caught up on the first thing said. "Control the population." His jaw was dropped and his eyesbrows were raised as high as they could go, "Where do you fucking come from?"
"What, are those things falling from the fucking sky?"

"What do you know about them?" He said with spiteful directness. He turned away from the man and remained focused on the needles.
