It wasn't unusual for Tobi to wake up alone, so he hadn't thought much of it that morning. Blearily, he'd crawled out of bed and slid on the nearest pair of flip-flops he'd acquired from the clothes box and made his way down to the beach. His rowboat, Anke, was almost as much Leo's as it was his own for how much they both used it and he figured the other boy had decided to go out early and get it ready for the day.

But, when he'd gotten to the beach, he'd found his boat just as he'd left it, tucked away safely in the boathouse.

Curious, but still not too worried, Tobi had decided to go for a jog while he waited. And then a swim to cool off.

Once an hour had passed and then two, Tobi began to get a little more nervous. Leo still hadn't shown up and, while it was maybe not too unusual for most people, it wasn't very typical of Leo.

So, still damp from his swim, he'd headed back up the path toward the Compound, brows furrowed in growing worry as he walked just a little faster than normal. Already, he was getting a sinking feeling in his gut. Joe had told him about how people disappeared, how it was just as frequent as people arriving and how nobody knew when it would happen, but Tobi hadn't really experienced it before, he didn't know if people just had a feeling or if they even bothered to go looking.

But, Tobi wasn't about to stop looking. Not yet. He pushed open the Compound doors, his flip-flops smacking against his heel as he made his way through the hall, not caring too much at the strange looks he got as he called out for his friend.

"Leo? Leo!"
