[Timed to last night!]
When she had heard about openings in the kitchen staff, something had compelled Isabel to seek out the woman in charge, Eostre, and get herself signed up. It would give her something to do other than essentially nothing but hang out all day, every day. Besides, if Michael Guerin could serve up burgers at the Crashdown, Isabel could certainly handle making meals here on the island.
Wanting a little piece of Roswell with her for her first foray into the kitchen, Isabel decided she would whip up some old Crashdown standards to the best of her ability. She'd only waited tables there once or twice (usually to help Maria or Liz out of a bind, and grudgingly at that), but Isabel had been a steady customer along with her brother and Michael for years. It wouldn't be too hard to recreate some of her more favorite dishes as best she could with the limited island supply.
Having had a blast concocting everything (and finding cooking way more fun than she remembered -- she usually preferred to just bake), when Isabel was finished she placed everything on the counter with little signs in front of them:
Entrees
Sea Space Port - a seafood and pasta dish
Sigourney Weaver Kick-Alien Burger - with boar instead of beef
Spaced-Out Soup - a vegetable medley
Side Dishes
Tossed Alien Salad
Unidentified French Flying Object - fried yams and potatoes
Drinks
Green Martian Shake - a green, minty shake that Isabel thought was appropriate because of Saint Patrick's day
UFO/H20
Abduct-tea
Dessert
Men in Blackberry pie (with raspberries, though Isabel figured that was close enough)
Discreetly, to one side of the counter there were several bottles of Tabasco Sauce available, should someone want any.
[Remember that meal posts also serve as gathering posts. This is a great way to get your pups to mingle and meet people they may not already know. Tag Izzy or each other! This will be Izzy's last post before she gets hit with her illness, for those that need to know. ;)]
